1. How to apply
Applicants can apply for an Apprenticeship direct to Sussex Coast College Hastings or by talking to their careers (Connexions) personal adviser. After the applicant has made contact with the college an interview is arranged. APPLICANTS SHOULD ALREADY BE IN EMPLOYMENT AND WORK WITHIN AN HOUR'S DRIVE OF THE COLLEGE.
2. Are all applicants interviewed and if so where/how does this happen?
Before being accepted onto the course, all applicants are asked to sit a literacy and numeracy initial assessment and then have an interview with the department
3. Does training take place at the work place or at other places as well?
Apprentices will expect to attend college at least one day per week and spend the other 4 days at work.
4. Can a training programme be started at any point in the year?
Although the entry points for the majority of courses are September and January each year, there are some that are far more flexible: Hairdressing (will take in April too), Business Admin. and IT Installation.

A minimum of £80 per week. Above this it is for the employer and the apprentice to agree.

Yes.
10. Are applicants referred by Connexions Personal Advisers considered for training programmes?

11. Is it possible for applicants to be kept on a waiting list if a place on a training programme is not immediately available?
Yes.
12. How should employers make contact?
Employers can make contact by phone, e-mail, web site or in writing. We will talk to the employers about their training and recruitment requirements and either help them to recruit new staff or train their existing employees.

Yes.
14. What other services are offered?
