1. How to apply
Applicants can apply for an Apprenticeship direct to JACE or by talking to their careers (Connexions) personal adviser. If you are over 19 you are required to have an Employer before applying to JACE and although training is not always guranteed, each case is looked at individually. Applicants are encouraged to contact the Provider for further information.
2. Are all applicants interviewed and if so where/how does this happen?
Yes. The interview is arranged either at the JACE offices in St Leonard’s or Crawley or at the applicant's nearest careers (Connexions) office or at the employer's premises where applicable - whichever is easiest for the applicant.
3. Does training take place at the work place or at other places as well?
Typically 4 days a week is spent at work and one day training away from work. Advanced Apprenticeships are the exception, where training away from work is typically twice a month on Saturdays consisting of one workshop and one support session. The way training is arranged is flexible- the learner tells JACE how thay want to learn and JACE responds. Training away from work is for a technical certificate and key skills and is provided locally by JACE. Advanced Apprenticeships are the exception, where training away from work is typically twice a month either on Saturdays or weekday evenings. The way training is arranged is flexible - the learner tells JACE how they want to learn and JACE responds.
