1. How to apply

Applicants can apply for an Apprenticeship direct to Rewards or by talking to their employer or any personal adviser who can contact us on their behalf. The applicant and employer will be provided with helpful information and then they will be visited in the workplace to begin the Apprenticeship.

2. Are all applicants interviewed and if so where/how does this happen?

If the applicant is already employed, a Rewards representative will visit the employer and potential learner to arrange the training programme, assess the applicant’s existing skills and identify if any additional support may be required. Applicants who are currently unemployed are welcome to submit a CV to Rewards but will not be invited for interview until a suitable vacancy arises. Alternatively individuals can apply via the http://www.apprenticeships.org.uk/Apprenticeships-Online.aspx website. All vacancies are posted on both websites.

3. Does training take place at the work place or at other places as well?

Typically an apprentice will spend the majority of their time at work. When joining the scheme each individual will be allocated a personal Rewards assessor, this assessor will visit the individual at work once or twice per month to organise training and observe the individual performing their daily duties. There will be opportunities for the individual to attend optional workshops at Rewards training centres in Brighton, Crawley or Haywards Heath in order to cover key skills and the technical certificate if required.

4. Can a training programme be started at any point in the year?

Yes

5. How much do apprentices normally get paid?

This is to be decided between the employer and employee, it must be at least the accepted minimum Apprentice salary (currently £95 per week) but Rewards does encourage employers to pay higher, competitive salaries.

6. Are all apprentices employed from the start by their companies they train with?

Yes

7. What help is there in finding a job?

Rewards assist companies in the recruitment of staff in a range of business sectors including Customer Service, Business Administration, Management, Retail, Hospitality, Distribution and Warehousing. When in tandem with the Apprenticeship programme, Rewards offer a complimentary service to employers helping with the selection of appropriate staff. When employers are seeking Apprentices the vacancy will be posted on our website and the http://www.apprenticeships.org.uk/Apprenticeships-Online.aspx website. Applicant’s are then welcome to apply for the vacancy and submit their CV.

8. Do you keep lists of current job vacancies?

Yes

Yes

10. Are applicants referred by Connexions Personal Advisers considered for training programmes?
