1. How to apply
Applicants can apply for an Apprenticeship direct to Sussex Downs College or through their Careers (Connexions) Personal Adviser. If applicants have a job they will be invited into college for a one-to-one interview. If an applicant does not have a job then the applicant will be directed to the National Vacancy Matching Service. Once a placement has been found the applicant will be interviewed.

All applicants are interviewed in their chosen vocational area once they have found a job. The interviews take place at Sussex Downs College.
3. Does training take place at the work place or at other places as well?
In general Apprentices attend college one day per week and work 4 days per week. However, for some Apprenticeships all the training and assessment takes place at work by visiting trainers and assessors.
4. Can a training programme be started at any point in the year?
Generally the start time is in September although this is becoming more flexible in Motor, Plumbing, Hairdressing and Care.
