1. How to apply

Applicants can apply for an Apprenticeship on the VMS (Vacancy Matching Service website) at www.apprenticeships.org.uk or by sending their CV to info@bhta.ltd.uk.

2. Are all applicants interviewed and if so where/how does this happen?

All applicants are offered an interview. This can take place at BHTA's offices in Brighton, at the nearest convenient careers office or at the workplace if the applicant is already employed.

3. Does training take place at the work place or at other places as well?

BHTA Apprentices spend all their time at work. All training and assessment takes place at work by visiting trainers and assessors.

4. Can a training programme be started at any point in the year?

Yes.

5. How much do apprentices normally get paid?

Apprentices get paid at least £95 per week, but many are paid more than this.

6. Are all apprentices employed from the start by their companies they train with?

Yes.

7. What help is there in finding a job?

BHTA will discuss with the applicant the type of employment required and provide guidance in seeking employment. BHTA will assist in arranging interviews with employers and help with interview techniques, etc.

8. Do you keep lists of current job vacancies?

Yes.

9. Are training programmes available to those people that are already employed?

Yes. Training programmes are available to applicants who are already in employment. There is also funding available for staff over 25.

10. Are applicants referred by Connexions Personal Advisers considered for training programmes?

Yes.

11. Is it possible for applicants to be kept on a waiting list if a place on a training programme is not immediately available?

Yes.

12. How should employers make contact?

Employers can make contact by phone, e-mail, or in writing. We will talk to the employers about their training and recruitment requirements and either help them to recruit new staff or train their existing employees.

13. Is there any charge to employers?

No charge for Apprenticeships.

14. What other services are offered?

Management Training, NVQs for those aged 25+, Assessor and Internal Verifier qualifications.

15. Are there any special entry requirements for the apprenticeships available through this organisation?

Applicants applying to BHTA for an apprenticeship should have grades A-D in Maths and English.
