1. How to apply

Applicants can apply for an Apprenticeship direct to South Coast Roof Training Ltd or by talking to their careers (Connexions) personal adviser.

2. Are all applicants interviewed and if so where/how does this happen?

Yes, interviews are held at the applicants current work place or at South Coast Roof Training Ltd.

3. Does training take place at the work place or at other places as well?

Training takes place at South Coast Roof Training Ltd's centre in Littlehampton, followed by on site assessment at work.

4. Can a training programme be started at any point in the year?

Yes.

5. How much do apprentices normally get paid?

Apprentice wages are negotiated between the apprentice and their current employer. There is now a set minimum of £80 per week for employed apprentices.

6. Are all apprentices employed from the start by their companies they train with?

Yes.

7. What help is there in finding a job?

South Coast Roof Training Ltd will assist applicants wherever they can but applicants should expect to carry out some job search activity.

8. Do you keep lists of current job vacancies?

Not at present.

9. Are training programmes available to those people that are already employed?

Yes.

10. Are applicants referred by Connexions Personal Advisers considered for training programmes?

For 16 - 18 year olds - yes. For those aged 19+ it is dependant on the funding available.

11. Is it possible for applicants to be kept on a waiting list if a place on a training programme is not immediately available?

Yes.

13. Is there any charge to employers?

For apprentices aged16 - 18 there is no charge. For apprentices aged 19 + there may be a charge.

14. What other services are offered?

On site assessment and assessed route for experienced operatives only. (Learners must have 3-4 years experience or more)

15. Are there any special entry requirements for the apprenticeships available through this organisation?

No.
