1. How to apply
Applicants can apply for an apprenticeship direct to JHP Training, via the www.apprenticeships.org.uk.uk website or by talking to their careers (Connexions) personal adviser. After contact has been made applicants are invited to an interview.
2. Are all applicants interviewed and if so where/how does this happen?
JHP Training will offer an initial interview to all suitable apprentices and successful apprentices will be shortlisted for interviews by suitable prospective companies. With regards to holding interviews JHP Training is flexible on location, we have the facilities to hold the initial interviews at our Haywards Heath office or we can arrange interviews at a local Connexions office. Final interviews with companies will usually be held at the place of work.
3. Does training take place at the work place or at other places as well?
All training is delivered in the work place. JHP Training actively encourages employers to support their staff in their training by giving them time off for training.
4. Can a training programme be started at any point in the year?
Yes, training can be started at anytime.
5. How much do apprentices normally get paid?
Apprentices earn a minimum of £95 a week but can earn up to £300 a week, depending on the industry and the employer involved.
6. Are all apprentices employed from the start by their companies they train with?
Most apprentices will be employed by the company they train with from the start but we do also offer trainee status Programme Led Apprenticeships. With Programme Led Apprenticeships we will work with the employer involved to secure employed status for the learner wherever practicably possible.
7. What help is there in finding a job?
JHP Training has the facilities to support applicants in finding suitable employment in your local area. JHP Training also understand that it can be a daunting task finding a job and preparing for interviews, that is why they are happy to offer guidance and provide useful tips on interview techniques, job hunting etc.
8. Do you keep lists of current job vacancies?
Yes. Current employed status vacancies are displayed on the Apprenticeship Vacancy Matching Service website at www.apprenticeships.org.uk and at local Connexions offices. Trainee status Apprenticeship vacancies are also advertised in local Connexions offices.
9. Are training programmes available to those people that are already employed?
Yes, if you are already employed and would like to do an apprenticeship JHP Training would be more than happy to discuss the details with your employer.
10. Are applicants referred by Connexions Personal Advisers considered for training programmes?
Yes. JHP Training work closely with Connexions who pass on details of applicants that are looking to join an apprenticeship programme.
11. Is it possible for applicants to be kept on a waiting list if a place on a training programme is not immediately available?
Yes, JHP Training will keep all suitable applicants on file and keep in regular contact with them and potential employers to ensure that when a position becomes available they can place applicants on programme quickly and efficiently.

13. Is there any charge to employers?
There is no charge for those eligible for fully funded government funded apprenticeships. There may be a charge for training staff aged 19+. Funding for apprenticeships is subject to availability.
14. What other services are offered?
Train to Gain NVQs for those aged 25+ and Skills for Life.
15. Are there any special entry requirements for the apprenticeships available through this organisation?
